Hey everyone. Welcome to the MDM Minute with Peter Schenk. Today I want to talk about enlightenment. You know, the word enlightenment has so many misconceptions with it. It’s been put on a pedestal and I find it hysterical. I have met many, many self proclaimed enlightened beings that have reached a state of enlightenment, so they say. These are beautiful people with strange and bizarre talents that are very, very powerful at what they do. The conversations that I’ve had with them I always wind up laughing at them. Not out of disrespect, but because they’re delusional.
In my reality, enlightenment is not a place that you can reach in embodiment. Let me explain that for a minute. When I’ve interviewed these other people and talked to them about their enlightenment, they say to me, “I’ve reached a state of enlightenment and simplicity in my life where I can then direct others on how to get to where I’m at,” or some other babbling baloney. Enlightenment in my opinion is a path. It’s not obtainable in human form. It’s a path that you walk everyday and you live everyday to better yourself. It’s self discovery. It’s about learning. It’s about being kind to others. It’s about a discovery process.
There is no end game in enlightenment. It’s a path, it’s a road that we all follow. If you choose to follow it you can to better yourself. The Tibetan monks spent years, years; their whole lives, 10, 15 hours a day in solitude meditating to reach enlightenment. Okay, if that works for you, great. You know? Again folks, enlightenment is a path you choose to walk on to better your life. It’s not obtainable in human form, but the path is very, very attainable in human form; walking it, living it, breathing it every, every day. Thank you.
